DGHP
The German Society for Brain Stimulation in Psychiatry
The German Society for Brain Stimulation in Psychiatry (DGHP e.V.) is dedicated to advancing the use and understanding of brain stimulation techniques in psychiatric treatment. It serves as a central platform for scientists, clinicians, and therapists interested in non-invasive and invasive neuromodulation methods used in mental health care.
Building on the work of the long-standing informal working group on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in Psychiatry (active since 1999), the DGHP has helped produce consensus papers and coordinate several large, multicenter clinical trials supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Over time, the society’s focus has expanded to include a wide range of methods such as:
- Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)
- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
- Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
- Magnetic Seizure Therapy (MST)
- Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)
For Localite, the DGHP Annual Meeting offers a focused environment to connect with psychiatrists and researchers working on cutting-edge brain stimulation therapies—and to demonstrate how precision in neuronavigation can enhance outcomes and safety in psychiatric neuromodulation.
