Project Details
Closed-loop Individualized Image-guided Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation (CITRUS)

The aim of the project is to develop a neuronavigated transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) -MRI system, providing a non-invasive method to precisely modulate brain regions with millimeter accuracy, including deep brain structures. This advanced technology addresses the limitations of current non-invasive techniques, such as electromagnetic methods, which lack the necessary focus and depth for effective brain modulation.

Tools to measure and stimulate activity in brain tissue
The goal is to offer a fully functional device capable of personalized, non-invasive, high-precision stimulation of deep brain targets. This approach has the potential to significantly advance both brain research and clinical treatments for neurological and psychiatric diseases, unlocking new therapeutic possibilities for a wide range of patients.
