Future Environment for Gentle Liver Surgery Using Image-Guided Planning and Intra-Operative Navigation

Fusion

FUSION pursues the goal of individualized precision surgery for soft tissue. The central component of this concept is the transfer of planning data obtained preoperatively from volume image data (CT, MRI) (including vessels, tumors, access routes, incisions) to the site for the various therapy options under consideration (open surgery, laparoscopy, and/or ablation, including transcutaneous procedures) and their use for intraoperative navigation and the control of intelligent minimally invasive instruments to support the surgeon in the precise implementation of surgical planning.
