Personalized multi-target brain stimulation to restore brain function in treatment-resistant depression (Precision-BCT)

The aim of the project is to develop and commercialize a personalized brain stimulation therapy for major depressive disorder (MDD) that accurately targets individual dysfunctional brain circuits. By integrating functional brain imaging with multi-site transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), the project seeks to enhance the precision of treatment, offering improved clinical outcomes and fewer side effects compared to standard TMS protocols.
A key feature of the envisioned system and workflow is the use of real-time induced electric field (E-field) simulation integrated into Localite’s TMS Navigator software to optimize the delivered stimulation.
Once demonstrated in MDD, the approach may be applicable to other neuropsychiatric disorders, offering a more tailored therapeutic option.
